Day 1Cracow

Arrival in Cracow. Transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 Cracow

Breakfast. A day to discover the charms of Cracow’s Unesco-Listed Old Town. Sightseeing starts from Wawel Hill and includes a visit to the Cathedral and a stroll around the castle courtyard. The tour continues along the Royal Route: Kanonicza street and Grodzka street which include architectural gems such as the Church of Saints Peter and Paul and the Church of St. Andrew. Then, on to the Main Square and Collegium Maius - the oldest building of the Jagiellonian University - for a stroll around the courtyard with its picturesque galleries. Sightseeing ends with a visit to St. Mary’s Church and a chance to see the famous altar by Veit Stoss. Dinner at one of the restaurants in the Old Town. Return to hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 3 Cracow - Auschwitz - Cracow

Breakfast. Departure for Auschwitz. A tour of the Unesco-Listed Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi extermination camp. Return to Cracow. Arrival at the hotel. Evening in Kazimierz, once a separate Jewish town founded in the 14th century. A stroll around the mysterious streets of this historical district, followed by dinner at one of the restaurants serving Jewish cuisine, accompanied by a concert of klezmer music. Return to hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 4 Cracow - Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - Wadowice - Cracow

Breakfast. Departure for Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, one of the most important centres of the cult of the Virgin Mary in Poland. The Unesco-Listed Bernardine monastery complex and pilgrimage park are located in beautiful hilly countryside. This is followed by a drive to Wadowice, the town where Karol Wojtyła, Pope John Paul II, grew up, and a look at the sites related to his life: his family home and the church where he was baptized. Return to Cracow. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 5 Cracow - Wieliczka - Lipnica Murowana - Cracow

Breakfast. Departure for Wieliczka. A tour of the Unesco-Listed salt mine, where sights include underground chapels and caves. Next, departure for the village of Lipnica Murowana, home to St. Leonard’s Church, a unique example of historical wooden architecture dating back to the 15th century. On the way, a stop at Nowy Wiśnicz, famous for its castle, a gem of the early Baroque. Return to Cracow. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 6 Cracow - Pieniny - Dębno - Zakopane

Breakfast. Departure for Sromowce, the starting point of a raft trip down the River Dunajec amidst the stunning Pieniny Mountain scenery. The Dunajec gorge rivals any of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in Europe. After the raft trip, a tour of the castle in Niedzica, and then on to Dębno which has yet another Unesco-Listed heritage site: the Church of Michael the Archangel, a gem of wooden architecture dating from the late 15th century. Drive to Zakopane. Arrival at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7 Zakopane

Breakfast. A visit to the Tatra National Park which, together with the neighbouring Slovakian park, is listed on the UNESCO World List of Biosphere Reserves. A walk to a mountain hostel in a regional-style wooden building in the beautiful Ornakowa Meadow. Time to relax and regenerate before the return walk. In the afternoon, brief sightseeing in Zakopane and free time on Krupówki, the main street of Zakopane, a great place for a walk and souvenir hunting. Dinner at an inn, accompanied by a folklore show. Return to hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 8 Zakopane - Cracow

Breakfast. Departure for Balice Airport via the village of Chochołów, a living open-air museum of wooden architecture.
