Day 1Cracow

Arrival in Cracow. Transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 Cracow: Kazimierz and the Old Town

Breakfast. A walk around the historic Jewish sites in Kazimierz: the Tempel Synagogue, the Kupa Synagogue, the Izaak Synagogue, the High Synagogue, the Old Synagogue, the Popper Synagogue, as well as the Remuh Synagogue and the old Jewish cemetery. Finally, a visit to the Galicja Museum in a restored former factory building, where the exhibition Traces of Memory documents relics of the Jewish past. Lunch at a restaurant serving Jewish cuisine. In the afternoon, a tour of Wawel Hill: a stroll around the castle courtyard and a look at the Cathedral. The tour continues along the Royal Way: via Kanonicza and Grodzka streets to the Main Square, which features many of Cracow’s architectural showpieces: St. Mary’s Church with the monumental altar by Veit Stoss and the Cloth Hall. Overnight stay.

Day 3 Cracow: Podgórze - Auschwitz - Cracow

Breakfast. Drive to the old district of Podgórze for the Schindler’s List tour: Bohaterów Getta (Ghetto Heroes) square, Apteka Pod Orłem, which houses mementoes from the Nazi occupation and the Podgórze Ghetto, the Enamelware Factory, Lwowska and Jerozolimska streets, a forced labour camp and a monument commemorating the site of the Płaszów concentration camp. Drive to Auschwitz. A tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi extermination camp, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Return to Cracow. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4Cracow - Tarnów - Cracow

Breakfast. Departure for Tarnów. En route, visits to historic sites of Jewish culture in Brzesko. Arrival in Tarnów. Sightseeing programme: the Town Square, Bimah - the remains of the oldest Jewish synagogue, Goldhammera street, the building of the former mikvah and the Jewish cemetery. After sightseeing, drive to Cracow via Zakliczyn, with a Jewish military cemetery and the rabbi’s house. Return to Cracow. Farewell dinner in Kazimierz at a restaurant serving Jewish cuisine, accompanied by a concert of klezmer music. Overnight stay.

Day 5 Cracow

Breakfast. Departure from Cracow.
